3D Printer Revolution
Arriving to Boise for our second part of our Maker Training we were welcomed with what will be a familiar sound at the New Salmon Public Library, the soft drone of a new technology that is sure to push the envelope of our patrons imagination. I can almost remember the day when I would cover my dot matrix printer with a soft pillow at night for fear of waking up my parents in order to finish a school project on time. Enter today when we’re melting plastic to create practical solutions to real world problems. The ideas and possibilities are endless.
Thanks to the Idaho Commission for Libraries we were funded a brand new 3D printer that will be available to our patrons upon returning. With a few simple lessons from our staff you will be able to utilize this new piece of technology for your own designs. Check out some of first prints which we’ll use in the library coming up.
Here is the beginning part of our “Teens” sign.
