Summer Reading Week 2 Recap: “Cross fit”

July 18, 2016 By Salmon Library Staff Leave a Comment

On Your Mark, Get Set.....
Another week came and another week went, but it wasn’t without a Grade A checkup. The participants of these year’s Summer Reading Program are hitting their marks and well on their way to completing their goals. But in the meantime, there is always room for some fun and physical activity.

Week 2 featured Daniella Wolters, a crossfit instructor, from LAT 45 to engage the kids in routine surely to tire the little ones out. They hoped, jumped, pushed themselves to new heights getting more then just their mind muscle exercised as they had with books.

In addition each week features an arts and crafts project which has previously been creating a shaker and last week’s activity dice. Next week will feature the fine art of origami!

Each week as part of the activity portion of this year’s theme for our Summer Reading program is “On Your Mark Get Set, Read” includes a program which gets the kids up and moving. Next week we are grateful to have Kit Kauffman from the Yoga 4 You studio here in town, stretching, bending, and teaching some ZEN to the kids that show up.

Reminder that the activity portion of Summer Reading occur every Wednesdays at 1:00PM – 2:30PM which is preceded by Kim Olson and Lemhi After School’s Promise Summer Food Program feeding anyone from the ages of 0-18 for FREE.
