Ready, Set, Blast Off!
They discussed, designed, prepared, and executed. Who you ask? The future Rocket Scientists hailing from Salmon, ID that is. Captained by superstar volunteer Christian Durocher, he whipped these youthful minds into a frenzy bringing in a model rocket engaging in all things explosive. Nothing is more satisfying then after a few hours of prep of stringing out that launch cable line, standing in safe blasting distance, counting down and turning the launch key, and pressing the blast off button. That was what was in store during last week’s TILT “rocketry” session.
If you haven’t heard about TILT yet, it’s time you do. Held now on Fridays, when school is off, available to both students and mentors (of any age, skill background) encouraging a healthy facilitation on all things Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math (STEAM). We are so blessed to have Christian holding down the fort offering great leadership and opportunity to those who join us, but he and the Salmon Public Library are always seeking new faces.
Here are a few highlights from last week’s launch! Hope to see you at TILT soon!
