A Creative Space For All
While busy building out an internal space for our younger patrons and family members to interact with in the form of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) the groundwork has been laid for creating a larger more community space with this same feel and vision. Over the course of the next months years, Jeff Stratter will be looking to raise funds both internally within the community as well as regionally and from larger foundations. His efforts will help provide a space in which he believes adds another layer of opportunity for the community. Whether it’s simply used as a space to strengthen the community muscle by having families and interaction between neighbors that normally might not occur or youth building a skill set or developing a passion for a new vocation along the way. The opportunities of mentorship that would organically form in a space like this would continue to build on an already tight knit community. Cross discipline and cross generational learning would lend itself to interesting results not yet seen. A space to engage the community, a space to make, a place to gather, a place to create, to which all would have access and have the freedom to design, innovate, and see an idea born into existence.
Stay tuned for further progress on bringing a community oriented Makerspace to Salmon, ID. In the meantime enjoy the Maker corner inside the library being developed right now! Not to mention the free recording studio space that is always available to book online at your leisure. Happy summer of creating!!
