LIBRARY PROGRAM: “TEST – Evaluate Prototypes”

August 7, 2017 By Salmon Library Staff Leave a Comment

Modeling from 2D->3D
Next Monday we’re going to take our 2D designs from the pool and create them into 3D. We’ll do this by prototyping from Cardboard first and then finally translating the winning design to a 3D printed model. Each student in next week’s class will be asked to create a slide that hits the goals of the correct velocity into the pool. We’ll have different materials at our hands to create a scale model of what an actual slide might look like. The one that functions the best in terms of safety and design will be translated to a CAD program in hopes to print it out as a 3D printed model.

If getting hands on is what you’re all about, send your child, participate, engage in this real world DESIGN THINKING challenge process as we explore TEST – Evaluating Prototypes in week 5. This class will take place August 14th and will last for an hour. We need many active minds to try and come up with the best solutions!

Hope to see you there.
