Building to Innovate
On August 2nd Switch hosted eager teens empowered to build their space. We took on two different design projects by Digital Harbor Foundation a mobile Tool Cart and a mobile Soldering Station. It was our first dry run at how Switch at Salmon Public Library might operate. Complete with food, games, instruction, and of course, Making! With the help of Maker Education Initiative AmeriCorps VISTA Jesse Hunt and Francesca Bessey along with key volunteers we were able to provide a great experience for all youth involved. They definitely were the stars of the show contributing their knowhow and energy to the projects. Some even used Drills, Power Saws, and other equipment for the very first time! So happy we get to go on this journey with the community of Salmon, encouraging youth to dream, plan, and execute in order to make it a reality. Keep on Making!!
