Presenting on Rural
Over the past three months, library staff, Jeff Stratter & Francesca Bessey have worked closely with Idaho STEM Action Center on a Rural STEM Engagement Grant. This grant included a two day professional development workshop created by Salmon Public Library in order to challenge other rural Idaho Communities to activate local resources around STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Math).
Part of this project led them to San Jose, CA for the 4th Annual MakerEd Convening Conference where they presented their results thus far. Beyond that they got to attend the workshops and presentations, learning more about how other educators around the country are incorporating this type of Maker Centered Learning in their formal and non formal sites.
