A day in the life of youth at Salmon Public Library. Two bright stars in, Priscilla and Miles walked into the library last week looking for books while on vacation from Mexico visiting their Grandma in Salmon. Turns out they are interested in many different areas of learning in addition to reading, one being 3D printing. Having never designed anything before they set off on a course of learning at the library through instruction by staff. One week later, they had designed and printed their own rocket which they hope to shoot off during their Christmas break when they return to Salmon.
Two other youth patrons have normally come into the library to be on the computer. However recently they’ve been introduced to some robots the library has and been asking for them ever since. Solving problems with robots and working together has created a more fulfilling experience for them at the library! We’re so happy we get to bring these opportunities to our youngest patrons.
