A fun story to illustrate the collaboration of our community. Recently Bri-Easy Shipping LLC heard about Salmon Public Library interest in prototype and design and asked if they could take their cardboard prototype of a “Tape Gun” silencer to a more finished product. Well of course! But let’s not have staff do it, but instead put our students to work, showcasing how things they do for fun can be turned into viable business opportunities. So off we went. Testing. Designing. And what happens, our ZMorph 1.75mm 3D print head gets damaged during one of our longer prints. For us, one more opportunity to learn.
We contact the wonderful support team over at ZMorph 3D who tell us what parts to order and send us instructions on how to fix. Fast forward a few days and our designer soldered and repaired the expensive part for under $20! Back in business. Stay tuned for his version of the final prototype!
