In keeping with current public health recommendation and taking a number of proactive measures to reduce the possible spread of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) the Salmon Public Library board has taken the decision to:
Close it’s doors and provide limited services from –
Thursday, March 19th 2:00PM through Monday, April 6th
The Library Board will reconvene on Monday, April 6 at 4:30 to determine next steps.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to keep our community safe and to protect those most at risk.
During the library closure we will have limited services such as
*Curbside pickup for books – Calling the library and leaving a message or emailing the library a selection of books to be picked up. We’ll do our best to extend our library to your home.
*No late fees will be applied or the need to extend the books you currently have out – Keep the books and return them upon the library reopening it’s doors.
*Increased Wi-Fi access – 24hr FREE WIFI will be available surrounding the library building throughout the time we’re closed.
*Any current Inter Library Loan requests will not be fulfilled
*E-Books / Audiobooks – Download the FREE digital services the library offers, apps available on the website (Cloud Library, Libby for Overdrive, RB Digital) to increase your access to content during this time.
*We are exploring the possibility of offering additional virtual programming depending on community interest. (ie Facebook StoryTime)
Over the next two days the library will be OPEN during regular business hours with limited services.
*We’re reducing the number of Public Computing stations to 6 while restricting access to headphones, chromebooks, and other shared items.
*Removing puzzles, games, Virtual Reality and toys from the children’s area
*The copy machine will be restricted to staff use only. Please see the circulation desk if you need a document to be copied or scanned.
*Suspending all in-house and outreach library programming.
*Returned books and other collection items, computer keyboards and other high-touch surfaces will be regularly disinfected by library staff.
