
Slide Prototypes Done!
Last Monday’s Maker class we started to TEST our designs. First we needed to build our Cardboard prototypes for slides and understand what a successful model looked like. Giving the students certain goals and constraints to fall within they attempted their design. They needed to fulfill the goal of getting the object to slide down the slide safely between 3-5mi/hr. To be able to understand this concept they needed to measure and convert their scale models from ft/sec to mi/hr. Secondly they needed to make sure they had the appropriate angle of entry into the pool. And finally the path needed to remain consistent for each launch, ensuring safety from the user. We had a great time building, testing, re-designing.
