LIBRARY UPDATE: “Small World, Big Fun”

October 6, 2017 By Salmon Library Staff Leave a Comment

Life Through a New Lens
Our first run with the Digital Microscope was a smash hit! A noble group of young biologists ventured to Island Park to collect samples of plants and bugs. The kids gathered mushrooms, moss, flower petals, spiders (big and small), grasshoppers, leaves, box elder beetles and more. We brought the samples back to the Lab (the library that is) to check them out on the big screen. One by one, each child took the items from their sample baggies and maneuvered them under the microscope for a chance to see details invisible to the naked eye. It was a special opportunity for kids to see all there is to learn through observation, and especially by taking a little closer look.

Check out our photo highlights of the program below, including some of the amazing images captured on our microscope! Stay tuned for information about upcoming Fab Labs, every Friday from 1:00 – 2:30PM!
