Learning shouldn’t be this fun! Or should it?! Our STEAM program (Switch) had shortened school week to work with last week when we visited Pioneer Elementary, so we did a one-week quick challenge. The classic Egg Drop. Added in some constraints like a budget to buy supplies, gave the team time to plan, design, & build. These were the fabulous results!
We loved seeing the youth be engaged with each project that got tested through predictions of whether it would pass/fail and why. If you’re not convinced at their excitement, watch this video of one of the teams “testing”
A quick debrief after it was all over brought in some real-world applications of protective equipment, seat belts, helmets, and how we re-iterate if at first we didn’t succeed. Next week it’s all about patterns in Nature!
